Not all old & and traditional in Vienna

I was immediately drawn to the rhythmic beats played by Capoeira artistes whilst I was soaking in the grandeur of Hofburg’s architecture. What a breathe of fresh air to stop and enjoy an energetic and youthful performance of this old Brazilian martial art on grounds of Viennese imperial palace.

Skateboarders of the city gather before sun sets and lay their youthful tracks on curbs, stairs, monuments of Hofburg’s grounds – their wheels on fire.

Skateboarding infront of a contemporary art installation of black coated aluminum – The Morning Line – by artist Matthew Ritchie in Viennese boulevard, Schwarzenbergplatz. A great contrast to stone buildings and monuments lining the square
